One of the best places to live
My mom and I tell everyone we talk to how much my mom likes Ivy Gables. Mom is even going to be in their commercial. It's the best place to go.It was the best place for the money.
About the facility Ivy Gables Senior Living
Ivy Gables Senior Living, is nestled in the village of Ardentown, Delaware and provides everything a senior living community should offer; a warm, friendly, comfortable and elegant lifestyle. It is surrounded by tastefully landscaped courtyards for relaxing with friends and families, listening to music or reading a book.
Ivy Gables opened its doors in 2014 and is owned by George and Tammy Loudon.
Formally known as "Eden Rock Assisted Living", Ivy Gables is located in North Wilmington, just off of interstate 95 at the Harvey Road exit and next door to our historical Candlelight Dinner Theater.
With twenty-four Assisted and Independent living apartments, our residents enjoy three home-style nutritious meals daily plus wine and cheese receptions; snacks and beverages are available around the clock.
Extra amenities include a bright and airy library, three season porches and physical therapy and fitness center.

One of the best places to live

Very Nice Well Kept Up with Friendly People
This is a very nice place. The residents are very friendly. The activities calendar is very repetitive for the residents. If you can get into independent care it would work better for your loved one, as they can be more mobile.
The staff communication was very good with the family. The apartment had a small kitchenette in it.

When I am older I want to come here
The place is great, the community is very clean and the staff members have continued to be so helpful and friendly. There are activities during all different times of the day, they are keeping our loved one constantly active and engaged. There are exercise glasses and mind games. She is really enjoying the meals and dining service, she gets three meals a day and if there is something they made that she does not like they will make her something else so they have been really accommodating. For everything she is getting, which is a lot, we think the value for cost is great.

The beauty of a community our size is that our chef and his staff can truly get to know our residents' wants and needs, and respond just as you mention above. We just introduced our Springtime menu rotation in April, and residents have been trying all sorts of new salads and lighter fare for Spring into summer! Care to join your resident for a meal? Just let us know a day or so in advance and we'll be happy to accommodate you!

Very disappointed
The care staff are lovely and the facility is very clean. It is small and my mother likes it. However, beware of potential "bait-and-switch" with regard to pricing and other. My Mother is functioning on a fully independent level.
Very disappointed with management/ownership. They have failed to honor the contract.

Thank you for your feedback! We are small enough to feel like a family home, tucked back here in Arden. However; we offer easy access to all major highways and sit minutes from the PA, and NJ borders.

An attractive community
This seemed like a nice community when we took our tour. The people we met were nice. This community is smaller and did not seem to offer a lot of room to move around. They offer less activities and staff than the community we chose.

It's important to note that staffing is based upon the number of residents and Ivy Gables staffing ratios are well ahead of the national average. it is true that you will see fewer staff members in a smaller facility, but the resident to caregiver ratio is what is important.
Here at Ivy Gables, our activities are based not only on what we offer residents but also what residents have told us they like to do! We encourage suggestions and feedback from our residents in an ongoing manner, and not just during our Resident Council or Town Hall meetings. We encourage questions during our tours and welcome you to visit with our Activities Director if you should need our services in the future. Thanks again!

Friendly, courteous staff
We're very happy with how things are going at Ivy Gables! It's a clean, well kept place, and the staff is caring, courteous, and very friendly. My loved one really seems to be enjoying herself here. They even do a good job with the food! We're very satisfied with the service they provide.
